Social Media, Websites and Blogging have changed the landscape of our real estate advertising and if REALTORS® are not riding the web wave, they are not reaching today's buyers and sellers. The number of Realtors having a blog has increased from 7% in 2009 to 10% today. In the past we advertised to reach customers; today we blog and customers find us. How? Relevant content and skillful wording brings our blog posts to prominence on the search engines and if our content is well written and relevant, customers will benefit from our expertise and do business with us. If you work with first time homebuyers this is even more critical, as young consumers do most of their real estate shopping online and one in five REALTORS® under age 30 have a blog.
Social Media, once considered a social pasttime for youngsters, has changed the way that all companiea market. In 2009 only 35% of REALTORS® used Social Networking to increse consumer awareness of their skill and branding. today it is considered Professional Networking and is an integral part of lead generation. Although most common in younger sge groups, NAR reports that one third of adults over the age of 60 use these sites.
Agent review sites are fast gaining ground as we are being utilized for consumers who are looking for a real estate professional with skill, experience, and ggod recommendations. Zillow.com and Homes.com have this aspect built into their sites and independent sites like incredibleagents.com are gathering buyers and sellers reviews for real estate professional. I acquired a new listing this week based on my profile on homes.com and was pleased to see the return on my investment so quickly.
